Information for Patients

The list below can help you prepare as best you can for your clinic visit.

  • ‍Collect all the necessary documents and tests that you have performed in the past that may be useful to your doctor so that he can better understand your situation.

  • Copies of previous tests, x-rays or medical history related to your medical problem.

  • List of medicines you take on a regular basis, including over-the-counter medicines.

  • List of allergies you may have.

  • Follow any instructions from your doctor about diet or medication before your appointment.

  • Ask a relative to accompany you if you wish. Depending on
    appointment you have, you may need someone to drive you home.

To get the most out of your appointment, be sure to ask your doctor any questions or express any concerns you have. Not sure what to ask?

If you need to see another doctor or have an additional test, we will try to schedule it in the same visit so that you are not inconvenienced. If this is not possible, we will schedule the next visit as soon as possible.
If you need to be hospitalized, we will inform you of all the necessary actions to follow.


Scheduled input

When you arrive at the Clinic, you will come to the central reception where the staff will help you fill in all the necessary forms, inform you about the admission process and arrange your insurance coverage, if any (public or private). They will do their best possible, to provide you with the room of your choice (subject to availability).

Then the necessary tests are carried out as requested by your doctor and you come to the room where you will be treated.

*We remind you that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all patients must undergo a rapid test. For security reasons and due to the situation, the attendants are also tested

Blood donation 

We would ask the companions of the patients who need a blood transfusion to come to the Athens General Hospital Annunciation for donating blood during the following hours, in order to help the smooth operation and decongestion of the Hospital

  • Monday & Wednesday 08:30 – 17:30
  • Tuesday – Thursday – Friday 08:30 – 14:30
  • Saturday 09:00 – 14:00

If it is an emergency hospitalization, please contact the clinic's Secretariat so that we can direct you. The Secretariat is open from 06:30 to 23:00 every day.


What to take with you

  • ID Card
  • Social Security Number (SIN)
  • Policy number if it is private insurance


Discharge from the Clinic

Your attending physician will inform you about the day of your departure from the Clinic, always based on the outcome of your hospitalization and your safety, after you have received instructions regarding the course of your health and medication, if it is required.

When you leave the Clinic, you will need to go through the Clinic's Patient Accounting Office to pay your bill.

The Patient Accounting Office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. We suggest that on the day of your departure, you will be picked up by your own person from the clinic, who will assist you on your return home.

It is possible to transport you from the Clinic by ambulance, in case this is deemed necessary.

The thought that you will need to stay a few days in the Clinic can be quite stressful. Organizing your luggage in case you need to be hospitalized is the last thing on your mind. The following list may be useful to know what you will need to bring with you.


Personal items

In case you need to be treated at our clinic, it is good to have your luggage organized, with all the necessary things for your stay. Below you will find a useful list to know what items are good to have with you during your stay at the Clinic.

Organizing the necessary personal items if you need to stay in the hospital is critical to your comfort and convenience. We recommend that you bring the following with you:

  • Comfortable clothes, such as pajamas, nightgowns, overalls, robes or cardigans.
  • Slippers
  • Personal hygiene items such as combs, toothbrushes, sponges and shaving equipment.
  • Notes or questions to your doctors
  • Headphones and phone chargers
  • Books, magazines or electronic games to occupy yourself pleasantly

Vougiouklakeio Clinic is not responsible for any loss of personal items and therefore we would ask that you do not bring any valuables with you

*The Clinic offers free Wi-Fi access to its patients and visitors.
