The Hematology Department is an essential pillar of the Clinic. Most patients require hematologic evaluation. However, in addition to the patients who are "passers-by", the doctors and nurses of the department are next to the chronic hematological patients throughout the course of the disease, providing high-standard services and having the latest technology equipment available.<\/p>

The quality of care, combined with the humanitarian approach of health professionals, offer the patient the best therapeutic experience.<\/p>

In the Hematology department of the Clinic we provide a full range of services related to the diagnosis and treatment of all hematological disorders, including hematological malignancies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

  • Leukemias (acute and chronic)<\/li>

  • Myeloproliferative neoplasms<\/li>
  • Myelodysplastic syndromes<\/li>
  • Autoimmune blood diseases<\/li>
  • Hemostasis disorders

    In the operation of the Hematology department, the Hematology and Microbiology Laboratory have been integrated, as well as the Clinic's collaboration with the Evangelism blood donation, which play a necessary and valuable role in the treatment of hematological diseases by carrying out the most up-to-date and specialized tests.<\/p>

    Also, there is a close cooperation with renowned laboratories of Molecular Biology and Flow Cytometry.<\/p>

    Blood donation<\/b><\/p>

    The companions of the patients who need a blood transfusion should come to the Athens General Hospital Annunciation<\/span> for blood donation in the following hours, in order to help the smooth operation and decongestion of the Hospital.<\/p>

    • Monday Wednesday 08:30 – 17:30<\/b><\/li>
    • Tuesday \u2013 Thursday \u2013 Friday 08:30 – 14:30<\/b><\/li>
    • Saturday 09:00 – 14:00

        Within the Short Hospitalization department:

        • Myelograms<\/li>
        • Bone marrow biopsies and collection punctures with maximum safety and speed, but also the least organic and psychological burden on the sensitive hematological patient<\/li>
        • Systemic administration of supportive drugs (IRON INJECTION), related to hematological diseases<\/li>
        • Monitoring of patients with hemostasis disorders
